Such a noob

I feel like such a noob. I just figured out how to follow other people... Blogger is such an awesome procrastination tool to use for this assignment ... it's completely okay too as this blog forms part of the assignment mark. Does anyone want to do my research asignment for me?

I've found a topic!

I've finally found my topic - Massage and Amputation.

The thoughts came accross my mind at running training when there were two girls training with prosthetic legs - one girl, bilateral amputation below the knee, the other girl was unilateral.

I then began thinking that this would be a really good topic to research, being quite universal:
1. How does it limit/block pain from neuropathy,
2. Amputation, why? From accident, congenital issues, diabetes mellitus & gangrene amputation.
3. Benefits of increased blood flow and circulation.
4. Reduction of scar tissue.
5. Removal of adhesions.
6. Persistence of phantom limb & the impact of massage on it.
7. Changes to Range of Movement.
8. Quality of life changes.
9. The effect of taking less pharmaceutical drugs to control pain.
10. Reducing the pain enough to use prothesis.
11. Increase in Activities of Daily living, with higher autonomy of mobility following hospital discharge.

I'm hoping that's plenty of points to cover in 2,000-2,500 words.....

Pretty sidetracked

Blogs .... are not my friend.
It's pretty hard to navigate the finer points of blogger ... posting the info we want is pretty simple, but the act of adding classmates so we can check out where we are up to, is the hard part.
So I've just wasted half the lesson trying to get my head around it all.
This means homework.
And a lot of research at home.
Still haven't gotten as far as choosing my topic yet.
Ciao.

Research, really?

Today I was given the down-lo about our research assignment.
2,000 words.
Massage + ??
There are heaps of options to choose from, ranging amongst:
*diabetes
*pregnancy
*sport performance
*increase immune system
*anxiety.

Anxiety or pregnancy will probably be the pick of choice - there's heaps on info online.

Time to study up.....
